Hereford Beef Solyanka 🌶

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef shank or ribs
  • 1 lb beef for goulash
  • 1 lb beef Salami
  • Potatoes
  • Carrots
  • Onions
  • Canned tomatoes
  • Tomato paste Pickles (marinated)
  • Chipotle peppers or hot sauce
  • Bay leaves
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Peppercorns

Serve with:

  • Sour cream
  • Chopped herbs
  • A slice of lemon

Preparation:

  1. In a pot, fry the beef shank , pour in water, add bay leaves, peppercorns, and boil for at least 2 hours. Skim off the foam.
  2. In a pan, sauté chopped onions, beef for beef goulash, and finely chopped beef Salami. Transfer everything to the pot.
  3. Then sauté shredded carrots, diced pickles, and tomato paste. Transfer everything to the pot.
  4. Remove the bacon from the pot, and finely chop the remaining meat back into the pot. Add diced potatoes, canned tomatoes, chipotle peppers, sugar, salt, and ground black pepper to the pot.
  5. Cook until the potatoes are tender.
  6. Serve with sour cream, herbs, and a slice of lemon.
